What You’ll Do

  • Plan, direct, or coordinate purchasing, in close cooperation with other functions like SCM, Production Planner, Finance, Quality, etc.
  • Create policies or procedures for purchasing activities after clearance with Director Operations.
  • Responsible the inventory management process, defining departmental strategies for appropriate inventory levels, eliminating obsolete and off-spec material, and reduce aging material, especially in close collaboration with suppliers (placing/timing of orders, develop strategy on obsolete material).
  • Manage the vendors for outsourced transportation and warehousing, align with delivery schedules to and from suppliers.
  • Manage all other vendors/suppliers in terms of on-time deliveries, meeting technical specifications (quality) and pricing.
  • Build and maintain supplier/vendor management system including continuous monitoring and evaluation of all participants. On-site visits to develop relevant participants.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and R&D for the development of new suppliers.
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand in close cooperation with the Production Planner and Sales.
  • Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies after clearance with Director Operations.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms with all suppliers.
  • Assess, manage and mitigate risks that are potentially caused by all suppliers.
  • Ensure Company is in compliance with laws and regulations regarding transportation, including hazardous material.
  • Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork to ensure set targets are met.

What We’re Looking For

  • Completed Bachelor´s Degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, industrial engineering or comparable.
  • Proven supply chain experience of 6+ years in an international manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong in negotiating and networking.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and German.
